Taking a break

After two days of almost non-stop lecture sessions we're taking a break from attending one for the next couple of hours.  This one is about Demonology so hope I don't go to hell for skipping it!  :-P  We'll attend the one at 3:30 today with Ami and Chris from Ghost Hunters.

Our group is going ghost hunting tonight at 10pm so it's nap time now.  It's been fun and interesting, and informing.  I don't know that I totally believe in ghosts and spirits since I've never met one but, I am open to the possibility.  A closed mind never learns anything new.

Just had a great dinner and charity auction. Off to The Cave for drinks and stuff.
In a seminar about ghost legends.

Friday afternoon

So, up to this point we stayed at the Spalding Inn on Thursday night.  The inn is owned by Jason and Grant from the TV show Ghost Hunters.  It's a nice place nestled in a national forest.  Very pretty!  The scenery is lovely with snow capped mountains.  It can be quite cold in the shade with the wind but the sun is shinning and warm after raining most of the two hour drive from the airport.

We didn't get to the inn until about 9pm and we hadn't eaten so we had drinks and a bar snack sampler plate before going to our room.  We stayed in the Carriage House and it's actually like a house that we had a bedroom in (two twin beds).  There was no TV or anything so we watched Avatar on my laptop.

The Carriage House at Spalding Inn

We checked out of the hotel early in the morning and drove into Littleton for breakfast.  We walked around downtown and ended up in a martini bar (it's 5:00 somewhere) for a couple of cocktails.

It wasn't too far to our final destination from there.

The Mount Washington Hotel
The hotel was built in 1902 and it's a grand old place.  They say it's the vacation place of Presidents and Kings.  It is really nice and it looks and feels like where Old Money comes to relax.  This must be the first time that room service has addressed me by "Madam".

In a seminar about the psychology of the paranormal

Let the games begin!

I haven't posted anything yet because of my cell phone situation but we've been here in New Hampshire for 2 days.  We left my sister's house at 5am on Thursday to catch our flight at 6:55am.  We had a non-stop to Dulles airport in Washington DC, then took a tiny plane from there to Manchester, New Hampshire.  Wow, that is the smallest plane I have ever been on and the take-off was scary!

We spent Thursday night at the Spalding Inn... have to run.

I left my cell phone!!

I am so pissed that I left my cell phone!!  My sister lives up in the mountains near Tahoe and her house has a metal roof so cell phones go dead very quickly because they can't get reception and they keep trying to.  My cell phone was fully charged then totally dead the next morning.  I plugged it into her car on the drive to the airport.  I wasn't in front so I wasn't seeing it when we got out.  Right when we got to the airport she went to the restroom and I reached to check my phone and realized I didn't have it!  Her husband had already driven off and my sister wasn't there to call him real quick either.

So... I bought a pay-as-you-go phone.  This really sucks!!!

Got a Sony Handycam DCR-SR68. Has a 80GB hard drive, not tapes like my old one. It is really small and light too.

Hey, it actually works!

It took a few tries to get the mobile blogging to work but, looks good now.  That first picture is me sitting at my desk today.  I love this dress!  I just got it yesterday while shopping for some warm shirts.  Didn't find any shirts but found the dress.

What am I going to mobile blog about?  And if I blog, will anyone even be interested in reading it?  I'll begin with my vacation starting tomorrow and see how it goes.
